The Gear Forest
A room you can turn. Pull a lever here, and something moves ten feet away.

Forty interlocking wooden gears, a two-storey marble run, and cranks sized for small hands. The Gear Forest is where cause meets effect in a way a child can feel in their arms before they can name it. Nothing is behind glass. Everything is meant to be turned, dropped, blocked, and tried again.

Three things to try.
01
The Big Gear Wall
Forty hand-cut maple gears. Turn one and watch the motion travel — slower here, faster there. Why?
02
The Marble Drop
A two-storey run you build yourself with chutes and funnels. The marble always finds the gap you missed.
03
The Lever Long-Table
Levers, pulleys, and counterweights. Lift something heavy with one finger and feel the trade you made.

“A four-year-old turned the crank, saw the far gear move, and gasped. That gasp is the whole exhibit.”
