Every child must be accompanied by an adult, and every adult by a child — Canopy is built for grown-ups and kids to discover together.
Good For Ages
Which car fits your kid.

The Passenger Car · Ages 5–10
How Things Work
Gears, circuits, and the 47-domino chain. Best for kids who take things apart to see what is inside.

The Engine · Ages 4–12
The Living World
Ocean floor to rainforest canopy. The widest age range — toddlers and big kids find their own level.

The Observation Car · Ages 7–14
Space + Time
Planetarium shows and meteor specimens. Built for older kids ready to sit with a big question.
Plan Around The Board
Time your visit to the shows.
The featured shows are the moments kids remember. Aim to arrive before a Boarding departure — the board ticks down to the next one.

Access & Comfort
A day that works for every family.
01
Quiet Car Mornings
The first Sunday of every month, 8–10 AM, before general admission: lowered sound and light, smaller crowds, sensory backpacks at the door. Built for autism and sensory-processing families — and on the same cognitive-load principle the whole museum runs on.
02
The Quiet Room
A calm, low-stimulation space off the Main Concourse to step away and reset, open all day.
03
Step-free throughout
Ramps and elevators reach all three cars. Wheelchairs are available at coat check, first-come, at no charge.
04
Strollers & little ones
Strollers welcome everywhere. Family restrooms with changing tables on every level, and a private nursing room beside the Station Café.
05
Service animals welcome
Service animals are welcome throughout the museum.
06
Sensory backpacks
Borrow noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools, and a visual map of the cars at the front desk.
