Manifesto Edition
Nakata Studio — Fine Art Photography
Light is the only material.

A photographer portfolio where the image IS the hero. Full-bleed grayscale photograph with the name rendered at 15% opacity as a ghost overlay. VOID restraint — almost no UI.
Nakata is a fine art photographer specializing in long-exposure architectural work. VOID Edition demands near-total restraint: the hero is a full-bleed grayscale photograph with "NAKATA" set in Spectral 200 italic as a ghost overlay, over a screen-reader-only H1. Horizontal line draws separate sections; the portfolio grid lifts from full grayscale to 60% on hover; series rows indent on hover. One Fraunces monument carries the single loud moment, and the page closes on two gestures only — a mailto and a hairline "Reserve" link — per the VOID CTA law.
Nakata Studio before the rebuild.
A fine art photographer renowned for long-exposure architectural work — whose portfolio existed only in gallery exhibitions and word-of-mouth referrals. The digital presence was an afterthought: a Squarespace template with twelve images and no discernible philosophy.
Commission inquiries up 320%. The work finally spoke at the volume it deserved.
Manifesto-driven homepage where oversized type articulates the photographer's intent before a single image appears
